Mother Nature is Confused...

We had a SWEET snowstorm blow through Prescott on Tuesday, and I've gotta tell ya, it was so great to finally have a real winter here. I realize more than ever that we've become true Arizonans, and the slightest precipitation causes severe panic.
The snow was teasing us all day, but finally began to stick around 5 pm. Of course I was attempting to drive home at the time, but was forced to abandon my car in an elementary school parking lot. Poor honda, she tried.

Of course a real winter storm wouldn't be noteworthy without a little electricity failure, and that confirmed our suspicions that school and work would absolutely be closed the next day. Woo hoo! After lighting about 30 tea lights (apparently we aren't well prepared) we sat by the fire and counted our blessings- for the first time ever no one was making fun of our lack of electric heat, and sole reliance on a wood stove. Ha!
The funniest part of this whole experience occurred while trying to help the neighbors dislodge their car from the snow. After a few transformers blew up in the area, resulting in no power and thus no heat or water (everyone has a well in our neighborhood, and they run on electric pumps), they decided to hit the road. Of course we were all talking about the situation when their little 3 year old boy became really excited and wanted to meet the "transformers." Hahaha! He'd just seen the movie and couldn't quite grasp the concept between the cartoon transformers and the cause of his parent's panic. Cutest thing ever.
Anyway, it was a fun couple of days, and the reality of what happens to melting snow in a city of granite is setting in. Answer: mud cesspool. Our dogs love it.
